Dr. Kelly Bennett of Brain DynamicsDr. Bennett has been a professional psychotherapist for more than 40 years. He continues a consulting practice in Santa Fe and administers an affiliate office of Brain State Technologies™ called Brain Dynamics, LLC, with three partners. Through the lens of having counseled a broad array of clients, he became strongly attracted to the many unique characteristics of Brainwave Optimization™ including:

  • Swift relief of major emotional trauma, physical trauma, and chronic pain;
  • A short-term process affecting both the conscious and unconscious mind;
  • Long-lasting, transformed patterns from new neural networks;
  • Tailored training protocols that preserve the individuality of each brain;
  • Observing directly the harmonizing influence of neuro-feedback on the brain;
  • Process dynamism that shapes itself to the progress achieved;
  • Accessing the power of intention, intuition, and dreams; and Everyone can be helped.

In early 2007, he took intensive training and with his partners purchased the high-tech equipment licensing them to open Brain Dynamics, Santa Fe. Since then he has participated in two Master’s Trainings.

Dr. Bennett was born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Astronautical Engineering (UCLA, 1958), a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology (CSULA, 1967), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Developmental Psychology and Learning Disorders (UCLA, 1971). He also attended Princeton Theological Seminary and Hebrew Union Seminary for in-depth Biblical and Language Studies (1962-4), as well as other Universities. His academic teaching experience has been at the graduate and undergraduate levels in both American and Australian Universities. Board registration for psychological consulting is currently held in two States of America (California and New Mexico) and one State of Australia (New South Wales).

He originally trained as an Astronautical Engineer. His first professional position was with Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, as an Advance Design Engineer (1958). However, finding himself more interested in the complex dynamics of people rather than things, he returned to school and trained in Clinical and Developmental Psychology. He created a broad-based family counseling private practice in Palos Verdes, and later, San Diego, California (1971).

In early 1986, he migrated to Australia. During his 12 years in Sydney, he was known as a people strategist and suitability specialist, consulting in Australia, Fiji, and China with over 75 business organizations and government agencies,including the Australian Department of Defense and the New South Wales Premier’s Office.

He arrived in Santa Fe (1998) and opened a consulting practice, and taught “Assessment in Counseling” for graduate students at Southwestern College. During that period he wrote his most recent book, Too Much, Too Little, Just Right, which shares the wisdom of his counseling years on how to stay out of extremes, to keep a balance in life, as well as to empower the imagination in personal development.

Cheryl “Charlie” Romney-Brown
2209 Miguel Chavez Rd, Suite F
Santa Fe, NM 87505

Charlie Romney-Brown of Brain DynamicsCharlie became enthused about Brain State Technologies after trying numerous other healing modalities for her son, David, who had suffered a severe brain injury and almost died nineteen years before. Among other disabilities, David’s speech was slurred and difficult to understand. Suddenly, he began speaking so clearly that she could understand what he was saying on the phone.  When she asked what he was doing that was new, he told her about Brain State Technologies in Scottsdale, Arizona. She called Lee Gerdes –the founder of Brain State- and after investigating the process, came to the realization that Lee had developed a brilliant new healing modality. As a result, she and her husband, Dr. Kelly Bennett, decided to bring this leading-edge technology to Santa Fe.

As a writer who embraces the creative spirit, Charlie was gratified to find Brain State Technology as dynamic and as satisfying as writing. The process is not only a science, but an art, and the possibilities for healing are endless.

She has completed the BrainState Master’s training and is a partner in Brain Dynamics, a leading-edge healing modality in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  She received M.A. in Liberal Arts from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and has completed all of her course work for a doctorate.  She taught Women’s Literature at Georgetown University from 1991 through 1998. Her book of poetry entitled Circling Home was published in September, 1989 by Scripta Humanistica.  Deborah Tannen included one of her poems in her best seller You Just Don't Understand.  Her work can also be seen in the Museum of American Art’s publication, American Beauties, Women in Art and Literature.  Ms. Romney-Brown has given readings on both the West and East Coasts and was featured on National Public Radio's show "The Poet and the Poem" on October 4th, 1989.  She has received several fellowships from The Virginia Center of the Creative Arts.

In addition, Charlie was a member of President William Clinton's Committee on Women’s issues, "At the Table", "The International Women’s Health Forum" and a member of “the National Council on Brain Injury.”  She is a member of "Leadership America", is listed in Who's Who in International Poetry, PEN, the Poets and Writers Society of America, Academy of American Poets and is a founding member of the Folger Shakespeare Library Poetry Board at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington D.C., and the Museum of Women in the Arts. While living in Washington DC, she founded Defining Destiny, a Woman's Literary Forum, a group of five-hundred women to whom she brought leading women thinkers such as Betty Friedan and Elizabeth Drew. She also arranged literary programs and interviewed writers for the Smithsonian Associates Program.  She has contributed articles to the Washington International Magazine. She is the founder of Women’s Voices in Santa Fe, New Mexico and has written a historical novel, The Secret Covenants, the Mexican Mormon Pilgrimage.
